WEKA is searching for an experienced and savvy social media marketer and digital communications pro who understands the art of storytelling in digital and short story formats and is passionate about creating authentic connections between brands and the full spectrum of their stakeholder audiences.

The Senior Director of Digital Marketing Communications will play a crucial role in promoting and championing WEKA’s brand internally and externally. They will help build and drive brand affinity and awareness by informing, engaging, entertaining, and inspiring audiences across WEKA’s owned media channels and cultivating social advocates both within and beyond our walls. They will be responsible for developing WEKA’s company blog, podcast, and social networks and building a tight interlock with our earned and paid media programs to enhance investments and expand our influence and awareness globally.

This position requires a seasoned marketing professional with a deep understanding of owned and paid media landscapes, a knack for building eye-catching digital campaigns, and a love for creating punchy, pithy, and snackable content.

The successful candidate will be adept at navigating the constantly evolving social media landscape and can shape strategies and best practices for building engaged digital communities, creating compelling content, and growing WEKA’s enterprise audiences across its owned media platforms. They must be able to convey a compelling vision and strategy for evolving and developing WEKA’s blog, podcast, and social media networks, enhancing its owned and paid media investments, and building and driving internal and external advocacy programs.


This is a net-new role in our rapidly growing global marketing team reporting to WEKA’s Vice President of Global Communications.

This role’s core responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic management of WEKA’s owned media channels, including its social media networks, corporate blog, podcast, and YouTube.
  • Deliver a consistent cadence of compelling and insightful digital content and integrated campaigns to promote WEKA’s product, solutions, news, events, customer stories, and business updates.
  • Maintain a tight interlock with WEKA’s revenue and product marketing, PR and customer advocacy motions to complement and enhance paid and earned investments, enhance SEO, drive traffic to digital content, and promote global marketing activities.
  • Drive follower growth and engagement across WEKA’s core social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Facebook) and establish and grow its presence in other networks that promote and support our employer and talent brand (e.g., Instagram).
  • Establish social media and digital content development policies, guidelines and best practices for WEKA’s employees, partners, and alliances.
  • Develop and manage WEKA’s employee advocacy program and support its executives in developing their social profiles and platforms.
  • Provide social media monitoring and listening to defend and protect the brand.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of combined leadership and hands-on practitioner experience in social media and/or digital marketing for global enterprise technology companies. Some data management software industry experience is a major plus.
  • A robust, demonstrable understanding of strategies, tactics, and best practices for building engaged communities and audiences on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube is required. Experience developing and producing other owned media channels (podcasts, blogs, etc.) is strongly desired.
  • Skilled in the art of synthesizing highly technical topics into relatable and engaging digital content.
  • Exceptionally organized with an exacting eye for detail.
  • Able to calmly multitask, prioritize, problem-solve, and make sound judgment calls while juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project and time management skills, experience building, managing, and mentoring high-performance teams, and the ability to gracefully manage internal and external executive stakeholder relationships and dynamics are essential.
  • The successful candidate will be resourceful, ready to lead from the trenches and willing and able to roll up their sleeves and execute as needed to ensure the success of their programs.
  • From a soft-skill perspective, they must be team-oriented and possess grit, determination, strong EQ, and a sense of humor.
