Alif established its first European R&D site to Oulu to be a significant center of expertise and employ teams of Software and Digital IC Design experts to complement the staff in the US and India. As our site is growing, we have a role for a motivated Embedded Software Validation Test Engineer to join our applications team and help us promote and support the groundbreaking family of Ensemble and Balletto Micro Controllers. You can join us as either as an experienced or an entry-level engineer into a permanent, full-time role and grow into a more senior role alongside our more experienced engineers.
The role will be part of the Applications team, and you will work closely with our application engineers and be responsible for the creation and operation of an automated embedded software integration, software validation and release environment for Alif’s products.

Ideally, we would like you to work on the following responsibilities:
- Help create and maintain system integration and validation test framework
- Help develop and maintain continuous integration build environment (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) environment
- Help develop and execute scripts and applications for automated testing and system configuration
- Validate system level functionality and performance
- Assisting with root cause analysis and defect isolate of issues found
- Experience in building and executing tests for BLE and 15.4 protocols is considered advantageous
The role will be built around the experience you have, but here’s some requirements that we feel may be beneficial for you to have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Some previous experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
- Some knowledge or experience with testing frameworks, software configuration management & defect tracking tools
- Some experience of developing software for embedded products
- Interest or willingness to learn to write automated black-box tests or system validation tests
