Main Responsibilities:

• Performing the activities related to the thermal design, modeling, and characterization of application and reference boards and IC packages
• Working closely with the internal teams and the external agencies (part and packaging vendors, customers, and partners)
• Maintaining records of the developed thermal solutions and surveying the market for suitable technologies and available thermal materials
• Running simulations (thermal and electro-thermal; Multiphysics and SPICE) for analyzing and predicting the thermal behavior of the designs and for producing electro-thermal models
• Assisting in prototype building, testing, and component fabrication
• Creating drawings and related documents for manufacture and assembly
• Planning and design of validation/characterization test setups for power ICs and reference designs
• Lab validation/characterization of power ICs and reference designs

Education, Skill, and Experience:

MINIMUM

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with post-degree relevant experience of at least one year, or Master’s degree in electrical engineering with specialization in power electronics
• Major academic project or industrial experience in board-level construction and operation of ≥ 100 W power converter with thermal management
• First-principles understanding of engineering disciplines such as heat transfer, electrical fundamentals, and power conversion
• Basic understanding of the thermal flow in semiconductor packages and board-level thermal solutions with good analytical ability to assess new scenarios and setups
• Hands-on familiarity with lab equipment (DSOs, multimeters, power supplies, temperature sensing, etc.)
• Ability to work in a startup environment where roles and responsibilities are often overlapping and flexible
• Ability to prepare reports and present results and ideas to team members and external agencies

Desirable

• Past industrial experience of designing power stage in ac-dc or dc-dc converters in ≥ 100 V, multi-kW range
• Experience with Multiphysics environments such as ANSYS or COMSOL
• Familiarity with PCBAs and PCBA components
• Coding experience in Python or programming in DSP
