About the Role
We are seeking an experienced DevOps engineer with expertise in FinOps (Cloud Financial Operations) and cloud security. The ideal candidate will optimize our cloud infrastructure for both cost-effectiveness and security, while maintaining high performance and reliability. This role bridges DevOps, financial management, and security practices to ensure our cloud operations are efficient, secure, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps and Cloud Management
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms (e.g., AWS, OCI, GCP)
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient and secure software delivery
- Optimize container orchestration and serverless architectures for performance and cost
FinOps and Cost Management
- Implement FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending and improve financial accountability
- Develop and maintain cost allocation and chargeback models
- Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost anomaly detection systems
- Optimize resource utilization through right-sizing, reserved instances, and spot instances
- Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to align cloud spending with business objectives
Cloud Security
- Implement and maintain cloud security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., CIS, NIST)
- Design and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and procedures
- Implement and manage encryption for data at rest and in transit
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Implement and manage security monitoring and incident response processes
General
- Provide guidance and training on DevOps, FinOps, and security best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cloud adoption and optimization
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud computing, FinOps, and security
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or cloud engineering roles
- Strong experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proven experience implementing FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization strategies
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and cloud networking
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, CISSP, FinOps Certified Practitioner)
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI for predicting cloud costs and detecting anomalies
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)
- Experience with cloud-native observability and monitoring tools
